2008 MLIS – 1st Inaugural Event Well Received

Lodging Hospitality, in conjunction with the Penton Commercial Real Estate Group and The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State, sponsored the First Annual MLIS, which took place July 14-16, 2008 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, Chicago, IL.

Highlights of the MLIS 2008 included:

- an Exhibit Floor of very reputable Sponsoring Companies

- a Conference Program of 16+ sessions, geared towards maximizing lodging investments. Topics included Hotel Development and Construction, Hotel Operations, Hotel Financing, and updates on Hotel Segments. Particular attention was paid to the rapidly expanding mix-use development segment that is bringing large numbers of investors into the lodging market for the first time.

- keynote addresses by re-known Industry Experts Laurence Geller of Strategic Hotels and Resorts, and Peter Yesawich of Ypartnership
